All four of the Minnesota Legislature’s education committees are scheduled to hold remote hearings this week.
The House Education Finance Division will meet 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2020, to discuss HF 4415 — a bill that would provide compensation for hourly employees required for school days canceled due to COVID-19 during the 2019-2020 school year. The committee is also scheduled to hear HF 3192 — a bill that would authorize the Marshall County Central School District to transfer $45,000 from its Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) reserve account to the School Readiness reserve account, both of which are located within the community service fund. The House Education Policy Committee is set to assemble at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2020, to hear HF 2383 — a bill which would modify a number of provisions related to the School Trust Lands director. Read the Minnesota House Research bill summary for details.
The House Early Childhood Finance and Policy Division is scheduled to meet 8 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2020, to consider HF 4374 — a bill that would modify child care assistance provider reimbursement rates.
The Minnesota Senate E-12 Finance and Policy Committee is slated to convene at 3 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2020, to discuss SF 3184 — a bill which would require vaping awareness and prevention instruction for public school students.
Also, the committee will consider SF 3312, a bill that would modify safe schools levy use.
