The Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) will be holding a “train-the-trainer” teacher mentorship training program in August in an effort to help Minnesota school districts and charter schools comply with new teacher mentorship requirements.
The training will provide strategies for teachers that can help them develop and implement mentorship programs in their local schools and districts. PELSB will identify up to 30 current teacher mentors across the state to attend this training.
Teachers must submit an application to attend the free two-day training. Applications are due by June 21. Access the application form.

Also, PELSB has added several new dates for the free cultural competency training sessions hosted throughout Minnesota.
PELSB designed the training sessions in partnership with several individuals and groups to meet the requirements needed to renew a Minnesota tiered teaching license. The training, which consists of two four-hour sessions, are led by trained facilitators at several locations in the Twin Cities area and greater Minnesota.
