MSBA to present at two education committees this week

The MSBA Government Relations staff is scheduled to share our association’s Legislative Agenda with two state education committees this week.

On Wednesday, MSBA will present at the House Education Policy Committee (2:30 p.m.) and the Senate E-12 Finance and Policy Committee (3 p.m.).

Senate E-12 Finance and Policy Committee
3 p.m. Monday, January 14 | Minnesota Senate Building (Room 1100)
Agenda includes Education Commissioner, Mary Cathryn Ricker and a budget forecast from Fiscal Analyst Jenna Hofer.

3 p.m. Wednesday, January 16 | Minnesota Senate Building (Room 1100)
Agenda includes presentation of legislative agendas from MSBA and other education organizations.

House Education Policy Committee
2:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 15 | State Office Building (Room 5)
Agenda includes overview of Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the World’s Best Workforce and the Professional Educators Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB).

2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 16 | State Office Building (Room 5)
Agenda includes an overview of education funding and presentation by MSBA and other education organizations.

House Ways and Means Committee — Education Finance Division
9:45 a.m. Tuesday, January 15 | State Office Building (Room 5)
Agenda includes an education overview from the Minnesota Department of Education.

9:45 a.m. Wednesday, January 16 | State Office Building (Room 5)
Agenda includes presentations from the Association of Metropolitan School Districts and other education organizations.

9:45 a.m. Thursday, January 17| State Office Building (Room 5)
Agenda includes Minnesota Alliance with Youth.

House Ways and Means Committee — Early Childhood Finance and Policy Division
8 a.m. Tuesday, January 15 | State Capitol Building (Room 120)
Agenda includes overview of early childhood development.

8 a.m. Thursday, January 17 | State Capitol Building (Room 120)
Agenda includes presentations from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
