Gov. Mark Dayton today released his education budget proposals, which includes increases in the General Education Basic Formula by 2 percent in fiscal year 2018 and an additional 2 percent in fiscal year 2019.

“We are pleased that Gov. Dayton has honored his annual commitment to public schools with a 2 percent increase on the general education formula each year,” said Denise Dittrich, MSBA’s Associate Director of Government Relations.
Other MSBA priorities included in the governor’s budget proposals are an increase in state special education spending, debt service equalization, and pension relief.
