Summary shows strong interest in Voluntary Prekindergarten program

Even with a short turnaround, Gov. Mark Dayton’s Voluntary Prekindergarten program received strong interest across the state.

The application process for the program ran from June 3 through July 1. According to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), 234 school districts and charter schools began the application with 184 submitting a complete application. The 184 applications were inclusive of funding requests for approximately 230 sites throughout the state.
