A glance at Week 11 of the legislative session: May 16-20
Sunday evening the supplemental budget conference committee met and began their work of going through side-by-side bills and the adoption of “same and similars.”
On Monday we sent out a Legislative Action Alert for help moving the omnibus elections bill to be heard on the House floor.
The pension bill hit a bit of a road block this week.
The supplemental budget conference committee met again midweek and again had no targets to work with. They did, however, add a couple of amendments that impact education.
As of noon Friday, we still have no budget targets. There is no transportation bill and there is no bonding bill. The taxes conference committee met for a few hours late Thursday night, but there is little movement dealing with already agreed-to items from last year.
The Omnibus Elections Bill was supposed to be heard earlier today. However, it has now been pushed to 3 p.m. today.
