14 Days of Advocacy: Plan to call MSBA teleconference during legislative session

Congratulations on trying new things, encouraging others to be an advocate for public education and committing to Minnesota’s students. We have been sharing Facebook posts, tweets, eNewsletters and more. As we get closer to the 2016 legislative session (which begins on March 8), MSBA’s Monday Morning Coffee conference call is another tool to provide you a weekly recap and insight to what is happening at the Capitol.

The Monday Morning Coffee with MSBA’s Government Relations Team is an opportunity to call in with others across the state get the latest updates from the Capitol. We gather the facts and insights for you every day in committee hearings, meetings with legislators and floor sessions. We share them with you in a 30-minute call and answer your questions. Here’s a thought — at your next board meeting, have each member volunteer to take one call throughout the session and share the information with the group.

1. Take a moment and schedule this now, each Monday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., beginning Monday, March 14, through Monday, May 23.

2. Cut and paste “Monday Morning Conference Call with the MSBA Government Relations Team” into your calendar for each Monday during the legislative session. To participate in each call, dial 866-939-8416. Once you are connected, enter this code: 3384568.
