14 Days of Advocacy: Sign up for legislators’ newsletters

The easiest way for you to stay connected with your legislators and news in your legislative district is to sign up for their newsletters. Most representatives and senators send a recap of the week’s activities and any upcoming events.

To start receiving the the most up-to-date information, visit http://www.gis.leg.mn/OpenLayers/districts to enter your schools’ addresses. The Minnesota and United States House representatives and senators will be listed. After you identify each legislator in your district and surrounding districts, get connected (see “Go” below).

1. Visit http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/maillist/mailinglist.asp to find your House representative’s eNewsletters. Click the name of your representative on the right-hand side. Then enter your email address and click “Submit.”

2. To subscribe to your senator’s eNewsletter, visit http://www.senate.leg.state.mn.us/members/index.php?ls=#header to go to the Senate members page. Find your senator and click on their name. Click on the “Subscribe” box located toward the middle of the page. Then enter your email address and click “Submit Information.”

Note: You can also visit http://www.mnmsba.org/ContactYourLegislators for a list of legislators on MSBA’s website. If your legislators has a Twitter account, please “follow” them.
