What we’re advocating for — MSBA’s Legislative Priorities are here

The Minnesota School Boards Association is pleased to officially announce the release of its 2016 Legislative Priorities.

MSBA’s 2016 Legislative Priorities include advocating for:

  • A 1 percent increase to the basic general education funding formula
  • Closing the equity gap
  • Expanding high-speed broadband access to every Minnesota school
  • Finding solutions to the statewide teacher shortage problem
  • And more

Please visit http://www.mnmsba.org/Portals/0/PDFs/2016-MSBA-LegislativePriorities.pdf to view our complete list of legislative priorities.

We are also interested in seeing YOUR legislative priorities. Please send your school district’s legislative platform to MSBA’s Kim Lewis at klewis@mnmsba.org.

MSBA will be working hard for you at the Capitol again this year — but we need YOUR help, too! The 2016 legislative session begins on March 8. This will be a short, fast session — so THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY is the time to act. So get ready, get set and go!

Check MSBA’s social media sites and your email inbox over the next MONTH and join us for “14 Days of Advocacy.”
