Minnesota Legislature announces committee deadlines for 2016

Legislative leadership announced the committee deadlines. Mark your calendars — the 2016 legislative session gets underway March 8 and the first committee deadline is Friday, April 1. That means legislators will have less than one month to hear and vote on all the bills introduced in their respective body – House and Senate. If we want to be heard, given this this tight timeline, we must send our message to legislators before the session begins.

This is why MSBA has designated February as Advocacy Month. Watch the MSBA Capitol Connections Blog and attend the 2016 MSBA Leadership Conference to help us stand up for our public schools during this very short legislative session.

Visit http://www.house.leg.state.mn.us/SessionDaily/SDView.aspx?StoryID=7916 to see all the committee deadlines for the 2016 legislative session.
