MSBA’s Top 10 — No. 3: Increased funding for early learning

No. 3: Increased funding for early learning in an effort to close the achievement gap

Though universal preschool wasn’t approved, the education bill contained big increases in funding for early learning. A few include:

  • $48,250,000 for Early Learning Scholarships
  • $30,750,000 for School Readiness
  • $10,000,000 for Head Start
  • $3,500,000 for Early Childhood Rating System
