Impact of Gov. Dayton’s education bill veto could be felt as early as June 1

Gov. Mark Dayton’s vetoed the education spending bill Thursday … and state education workers and schools could feel the impact by June 1.

More than 800 state education workers will likely begin layoff notices by June 1.

Without an education bill in place before July 1, the Minnesota Department of Education will shut down and school funding would not be available.
