MSBA at the Capitol — Minnesota education committees unveiling omnibus finance bills this week

The House Education Finance Committee and the Senate Finance Committee — E-12 Budget Division will present their respective omnibus education finance bills this week.

The House Education Finance Committee is holding hearings Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week regarding its bill (HF 844). All meetings are slated for 12:45 p.m. in the State Office Building (Room 5).

The House committee will accept public comment during the Wednesday (April 15) meeting. If you want to provide brief comments on this bill, contact Committee Administrator Jody Withers at jody.withers@house.mn.

The Senate E12 Division Committee will do a walk-through of the delete-all amendment to its omnibus bill (SF 811) 8:30 a.m. Wednesday (April 15) at the State Capitol Building (Room 112). This amendment will be posted this afternoon (April 14).

Also, the committee will take public testimony on its omnibus bill on Wednesday. If you are interested in testifying on the Senate bill, e-mail Nancy Livingston at nancy.livingston@senate.mn.

The Senate committee will then take action on this bill from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday (April 16) in Room 107 of the Capitol. (In necessary, the committee will reconvene in Room 112 at 4 p.m.)
