Don’t miss MSBA’s “Day at the Capitol” on March 5! Walk-in registrants welcome!

The Joint Legislative Conference is fast approaching on Thursday, March 5, at the Crowne Plaza St. Paul-Riverfront hotel in St. Paul.

Join MSBA, your school board colleagues and other local government leaders at this event to enhance your advocacy skills and learn about key education issues.

Walk-in registrants are welcome! (Advance registration is closed.)

We have been planning for months to make this worth your time. You will not want to miss hearing from Gov. Mark Dayton, Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk, House Speaker Kurt Daudt, and learning the latest news about the School Trust Lands, School Facilities, Mental Health Issues and many more topics. Wrap up the day by talking with House education committee chairs Rep. Jenifer Loon and Rep. Sondra Erickson, and sponsor of LIFO proposal Sen. Terry Bonoff — and your own legislators. (Arrange to meet with your legislators in advance.)

Please visit for the complete agenda and full list of activities for the day.

Park for Free
If you just want to come up for the day (and avoid staying at a hotel overnight Wednesday), we have made it easy for you. You can park for FREE at the League of Minnesota Cities parking lot (145 University Avenue West, St. Paul) and ride the light rail downtown.

The Light Rail Transit Green Line runs every 10 minutes between the Capitol/Rice St. Station (located right outside the League’s front doors) and Central Station (1.5 blocks from the Crowne Plaza St. Paul-Riverfront hotel).

On the morning of Thursday, March 5, pre-paid tickets will be available for registered conference delegates traveling to and from the hotel and the Capitol area. The League building will be open starting at 6:45 a.m. Thursday morning — so grab a cup of coffee and a free train ticket downtown. MSBA and League staff will be available to help train passengers get to/from the station. Attendees should plan to arrive at the League by 7:30 a.m. to travel to the hotel in time for the 8 a.m. welcome.

There is also an optional reception planned from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March, at the Crowne Plaza.
