How E-rate program expansion could impact Minnesota

In the days preceding the FCC’s approval of the E-rate funding increase from $2.4 billion to $3.9 billion, the Alliance for Excellent Education released state-by-state estimates of how much more funding each state would receive if E-rate was expanded.

The Alliance for Excellent Education estimated that “If the FCC approves the expansion of E-rate, 833,540 additional students in 2,470 additional schools and 360 additional libraries in Minnesota will have access to $90.4 million in E-rate–supported Wi-Fi over the next five years.”
